McCray, Ira B. (23 APR 1885 - 13 APR 1943)

Ira (Mike) Blaine McCray, 59, died at his home in this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) Tuesday morning following an illness of several months. He was born at Cataract, Wis., April 23, 1885, and came with his family to Owen seventeen years ago, from Tomah.

After coming to Owen, Mr. McCray became engaged in the restaurant business, which he successfully conducted up until the time of his failing health. He was a public spirited citizen and always had a helping hand for any worthwhile activity. He had a large acquaintance, all of whom were his friends.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Blaine of Chicago; Harold, Owen; Harrison, Camp Hahn, Calif., and Vernon, Camp Phillips, Kans., and one daughter, Mrs. Ray Kivikko, Dekalb, Ill., three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Maud Dolson, Mrs. Effie Coon and Mrs. Clifford Spears, and Floyd, all of Portland, Ore., one brother, Archie of Minneapolis, and Earl of Owen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon from St. Katherine’s Church, Owen, Rev. R. E. Ortmayer officiating, and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
