Prior, Murial (17 AUG 1941)

In the living room decorated with flowers and ferns and candlelit in the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray A. Prior, Miss Murial Joy Prior became the bride of Raymond Frank Ewert of Huntley, Ill., Sunday evening at 8 o’clock. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ewert, Huntley, Ill.

The bride and her maid of honor Miss Virginia Colby, Wausau, descended the wide stairway and were met in the hall by the groom and the best man, Robert Ewert of Huntley, Ill., twin brother of the groom, and then proceeded to a position in front of the fireplace where the Rev. Orlando Jewell, pastor of the Methodist Church, performed the double ring ceremony.

Mrs. Frank Ewert, Crystal Lake, Ill., a cousin of the bride and sister-in-law of the groom played the wedding march and accompanied the bride’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Calvin Prior as she sang "O Promise Me", and "Under His Wings".

The bride’s dress of white crepe was fashioned with a fitted bodice, shirred yoke effect, short sleeves, and a floor length full skirt decorated with bow knots of white baby ribbon. Her finger tip lace edged veil formed a halo, and she carried a bouquet of yellow tea roses, swansonia and ferns.

Miss Colby wore a blue brocaded organdie frock similar to that of the bride’s. She had a headband of blue flowers in her hair and wore a corsage bouquet.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School with the class of ’40 and Mr. Ewert was graduated from a school of mechanics at Woodstock, Ill., and now holds a position as mechanic apprentice at Crystal Lake, Ill., where the couple will make their home after Sept. 1.

Preceding the ceremony a six o’clock dinner was prepared and served by Mrs. J. R. Steiner at the Prior home to about 40 guests. The waitresses were Misses Janice and Joyce Trindal, Beverly Boe, Clareen Hammerstrom, and Lorraine West.

The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Prior and children, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Prior, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Giese, Robert Prior, Miss Elma Prior, Mrs. O. A. Jewell, Mr. and Mrs. J.
