Haire, Edna Mae (15 JUN 1943)

On June 15th, 1943, at 7:30 o’clock in the evening, Edna Mae Haire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Haire of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of James Leland Haas, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Haas, also of Withee.

The marriage was conducted in the First Methodist Church of Portland, Oregon, and the service read by the pastor, Rev. L.B. Logan. The couple were attended by Mrs. Edward Terry and S. Tucker of Portland, Ore.

The bride chose navy blue silk crepe for her street length dress and accessories also in blue, to match the navy uniform worn by the groom.

Edna Mae is a graduate of the Withee High School, class of 1941. She attended State Teachers College at Stevens Point, later going to Milwaukee, where she has been employed the last year.

Leland graduated as Valedictorian of his class in 1939, after three years of High School at Withee. He then went to Plattville, Wis., to State Teachers College two years, enlisting in the U.S. navy last year. He is at present stationed at Portland with the motorized division, on shore duty. The couple will reside at 1904 North West 23rd Av., in Portland.

A host of friends extend best wishes to these young people. And hope they have a happy wedded life.
