Curtiss, Wis. - Aug. 17, 1950

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stoltenberg and son of Neillsville, Wisconsin spent Sunday with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. P. Hoff.

Miss Bertha Schultz of Milwaukee is visiting with her sister, Mrs. Anna Tonn, this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCorrison and daughter, Jane, spent the week-end at Clam Lake.

Mrs. Harry Laabs and sons, Mrs. O. A. Laabs and son, Jimmy, and daughter, Judith, returned on Saturday from a two weeks’ visit with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Pease of Bay City, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Arve Hermanson and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hermanson of Brook, Ind.

Mrs. Henry Petterson left on Saturday morning on a motor trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Can., and other Northern points. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schorer of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dittmeyer of Colby, Wis.

Mrs. Ethel Bowen and her guests from Brooklyn, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bowen, visited at Lake Tomahawk on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Streit and daughter of Milwaukee are spending a short vacation with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Helga Kluve, and other relatives.

Miss Minnie Thompson returned to Milwaukee, accompanied by her nephew, Dale Thompson, after spending the past three weeks with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Thompson.

Rev. and Mrs. O. K. Odland and family will leave on Wednesday for a two weeks vacation. They will visit relatives at Stoughton, Wis., and at Kenyon, Minn.

Rev. and Mrs. G. E. Borreson of Hayward were over-night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laak. Their daughter, Naomi, who has been visiting here the past week, returned home with them.

Rae Ann Matthias left on Monday evening for Minneapolis to resume her nurses training at the Abbott Hospital after a four weeks vacation here and at her home at Ashland.

On Sunday, Aug. 13, Donald Kraut was host to thirty-two members of Co. H. 531 Engineers Shore Regiment of the 1st Special Engineer brigade at their annual reunion. This company, of which Donald was a member in World War II, meet annually, and is composed of men from Mich., Minn., Ohio and Wisconsin. They will meet at Detroit, Mich., next year.

Ervin Krause of Minneapolis visited with friends and relatives over the week-end.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stockmeyer and daughter, Nancy, of LaCrosse are spending their vacation with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stockmeyer and other relatives.
