Last rites for Mrs. Gust Anderson of the Town of Thorp, were conducted by Rev. Harry Lee, Methodist Pastor, at the Thorp Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, Jan. 29th at two o’clock.
Mrs. Anderson had been an invalid for many years. She suffered a stroke nine years ago which left her in a helpless condition and she passed away at the Stanley Hospital on Jan. 26, 1943, having reached the age of 74 years, 3 months and 21 days.
Katie Healy was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., on Oct. 5, 1868. She was married to Gust Anderson on Dec. 18, 1901 and they moved on a farm in the Town of Thorp at that time and this has since been her home.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Lawren of Waukesha and Harold at home; three brothers, Jacob Healy of Orlando, Fla., Elmer Healy of Stanley and Ed Healy of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Greolle of Madison and Mrs. Percy Thayer of Fond du Lac.
Mrs. Anderson was for many years a member of the Presbyterian Church, of the Women’s Relief Corps and the Rebecca Lodge. She enjoyed the fraternity and friendship of these groups until sickness made it impossible to participate in their activities. Death has released her from suffering, but she will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
The remains were laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery, and the following acted as pallbearers: J.E. Lund, Isaac Sisco, Arthur Sayles, E.S. Boardman, Chas. Flunker and Adolph Aslakson.
