Phillip 'Phil' Howarth

MEDFORD -- Phillip "Phil" A. Howarth, 82, town of Little Black, died March 4, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Private family-only services will be held at a later date.

Phil was born Aug. 16, 1925, at Amberg to Albert and Hilmay (Marquis) Howarth. He married Eleanor D. Kauer on Sept. 8, 1954, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, Wis. Following his education he entered the U.S. Coast Guard, serving for more than two years during World War II. He and his wife owned Phil & Eleanor's Steak House in the town of Little Black for 53 years. He also worked at Klingbeil's Lumber Company in Medford for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor D. Howarth, Medford; daughter, Donna (David) Gorichs, Medford; and sons, Donald Howarth, Denver, Colo., and Darryl Howarth, Seattle, Wash.
