Harvatin, Mary (Marriage - 31 JAN 1942)
A beautiful wedding ceremony was solemnized Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary church, Owen, uniting Miss Mary Harvatin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Harvatin of Owen, and John Fritz Jr., of Chicago, in marriage. The ceremony was read by Father C. D. Brady.
During the service Miss Mary Kay Bornhofen accompanied by Mrs. W. K. Doonan sang Ave Maria.
The bride wore a long white silk jersey gown fashioned with a dirndl skirt, gathered bodice with long puffed sleeves. From her seed pearl headdress a veil of illusion floated to the floor and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and gladiolas.
Miss Ann Harvatin, sister of the bride and Mrs. Joseph Fritz Jr., sister in law of the groom, attended the bride, while Joseph Fritz Jr., a brother of the groom and Anton Harvatin Jr., a brother of the bride attended the groom.
Immediately following the ceremony a breakfast and reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, which was beautifully decorated with streamers and flowers for the occasion.
The couple will be at home to their relatives and friends after February 5 at Wilmette, Ill., where he is employed as a machinist.
Those from away that attended the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fritz Sr. of Chicago; Miss Ann Harvatin of Lake Forest, Ill.; and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Celar of Neillsville.
