Crossgrove, Samuel E. (6 Jan. 1892 - 16 May 1952)

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Sunday at the Unity, Wisconsin Methodist Church for Samuel E. Crossgrove, 60, Town of Brighton, who died at his home Thursday morning from injuries received when he fell at his home last Tuesday.

The Rev. F. J. Smith officiated at the services and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home until noon Sunday, when it was taken to the church.

At the services Mr. and Mrs. Theo Domer sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Goodnight Here and Good Morning Up There" accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Tom Loughead.

Pallbearers were B. W. Mabbot, Lawrence Nipko, Albert Schneider, Ernest Capes, Graham Thayer and Sewell Cook.

Flower girls were Mrs. B. W. Mabbot, Mrs. S. A. Cook, Mrs. Wm. McNeight, Mrs. Herbert Binning, Mrs. M. E. Evenson, and Mrs. Ernest Capes.

Mr. Crossgrove was born January 6, 1892, in the Town of Brooklyn, Green County. His marriage to the former Jennie Johnson took place December 27, 1927, in Neeenah. Mr. Crossgrove was a farmer his entire life and for the past 37 years had farmed in the Town of Brighton. He was a member of the Official Board of the M. E. Church.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Doris) Hoesley, New Glarus; a son, Victor, Wausau; three grand-children, two sisters, Mrs. Nel Erickson, Chokio, Minn., and Mrs. Harold Drews, Marshfield; and a brother, Howard, Colby, Wis.

Out-of-town people here for the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. John Loughead, Whitewater; Mrs. Raymond Cook, of Marathon; Mrs. Nelle Erickson, and Gladys Loughead, Chokio, Minn.; George Loughead and Mrs. and Mrs. Raymond Scott and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Schmetter, Bellville; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Drews and children, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson of Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Manson, Rice Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crossgrove, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Parmenter, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hoesley, New Glarus; Wm. Loughead, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Cook, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fuller and Marjorie, Victor Crossgrove, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Witt, Adams; Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Stall, Orfordville and Walter Wheeler, Signopry, Iowa.
