Richard Leon Gorsegner, 85, W8891 Bell Road, Ladysmith WI, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Richard was born in Stanley, WI on May 16, 1915 the son of Christian and Pearl (Warner) Gorsegner. As a young man he moved to Jump River, WI with his family. He was united in marriage to Dolly Couillard on June 1, 1938 in Stanley, WI. They lived in Racine, WI and returned to Jump River in 1945. They owned and operated Hungry Hollow Tavern north of Gilman, WI until retirement in 1975. They then moved to Ladysmith and resided there since.
Richard is survived by three sons: Robert (Mary Lynn) of Chicago. IL, Willis (Eleanor) of Ladysmith, WI and Barry (Donna) of Braham, MN; one daughter Betty (LaValle) Williams of Stanley, WI plus 11 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolly on November 7, 1990. 1 Granddaughter Lori Stecks and 2 brothers; Clarence and Russell.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 13, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at the Jump River Community Hall with Pastor Michael Weaver officiating. Visitation was from 11:00 a.m. till time of services at the hall. Burial was in Mount Nebo Cemetery, Jump River, WI. Pallbearers were: Albert Madlon, Charles Creaser, Warren Dodge, Mike Wright, Jerry Schufeldt, and George Eckstrom. Gilman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
