Longenecker, Josephine Mrs. (Marriage - 2 Jan. 1944)

Mrs. Josephine Longenecker and Benjamin Longenecker, both of Leonidas, Mich., were quietly married on Sunday, Jan. 2, 1944, at Sunset Point, the home of Rev. and Mrs. G. W. Longenecker the, ceremony being performed by the Rev. Longenecker.

The bride, before her marriage, on Sunday, was the widow of Adam Longenecker, a brother of Rev. Longenecker, her former husband having passed away five years ago.

The groom is the youngest brother of Rev. Longenecker, his former wife having passed away three years ago.

These two fine people reside in Leonidas, Mich., only a few houses apart, and have been friends for many years. They traveled a distance of 900 miles to be married in Neillsville by the groom’s brother. The ceremony was performed at 4 o’clock in the presence of a few friends.

It has been hoped that William and Ernest Longenecker and their families could be present for this occasion, but due to illness and other causes, they could not come. In their absence Mrs. G. W. Longenecker and S. J. Patey attended the bride and groom. After the ceremony a lunch of ice cream and cake was served.

The newly married Mr. and Mrs. Longenecker left on Tuesday for the return trip to their home in Michigan.
