Shelley, Dwight (29 Nov. 1918 - 25 July 1955)

Dwight Shelley, 36, died of a heart ailment at 6 p.m. Monday, July 25, at his home in Riplinger.

The body will repose at the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer until Friday noon when it will be taken to the Unity Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harvey Schall will officiate and burial will be made in the Unity cemetery.

Mr. Shelley was born November 29, 1918 at Owen. His marriage to Violet Schropp took place May 28, 1949 in Chicago.

Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Martin, 4, at home; four sisters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Neuman, Spencer; Mrs. Emmett (Olive) McCarthy, Milwaukee; Mrs. Reine (Mildred) Griepentrog, Marshfield; and Mrs. Tony (Geraldine) Schuh, Colby; three brothers, William Shelley, Huntington Park, Calif.; Herbert Shelley, Milwaukee; and Leon Shelley, Riplinger.

Four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church at Unity for Dwight Shelley, 36, who passed away Monday, July 25 at his home in Riplinger.

The Rev. Harvey Schall officiated at the service and burial was made in the Unity cemetery.

Mrs. Ted Domer and Mrs. Rodney Fuller sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Thomas Loughead.

Pallbearers were Ronald, Erland and Delbert Shelley, Donald Neuman, Roger Schuh and Gerald McCarthy.

Judith Schuh, Cydell Shelley, Beth Griepentrog, Audrey Muslolf, Karen Griepentrog and Gail Neuman were in charge of the flowers.
