Josephson, Emma (17 Nov. 1865 - 26 Nov. 1956)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, for Mrs. Emma Josephson, 91, who died Monday night at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. She had enjoyed excellent health until suffering a stroke two weeks ago.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, until the time of services. The Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiated at the final rites and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Josephson, nee Johnson, was born in Latford, Finland November 17, 1865, receiving her education there and marrying Victor Josephson at Kristiina, Finland, September 29, 1887. They lived on a farm in the Town of Unity from 1905 to 1928 when they moved to the Village of Unity. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in Unity in 1952. Mr. Josephson died November 20, 1954.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Fred Mooney, Rhinelander, Mrs. Fannie Boyer, Unity, and Edgar, Spencer; one brother, John Johnson, Unity, one sister, Minnie Johnson, of Bradford, Ontario, Canada; 13 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Six children and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Josephson was a member of Trinity Church and an honorary member of its Mission Society.
