Wescott, Harvey (1864 - 29 Apr. 1958)

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, for 84 year old Harvey Wescott, Stratford, route 2. The Rev. Roger Knutsen of the Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Arvid Talcott, Herbert Seelow, Ernest Albert Schneider, Henry Niemann and Henry Vick.

Mr. Wescott was born in Kaukauna in 1864. He moved to Colby with his parents in 1887. He married Eva L. Bullen in 1890 and they moved to a farm in the Town of Eau Pleine. Mrs. Wescott died in 1939. Mr. Wescott made his home with his son, Glen and wife on the home farm until two years ago when he suffered a stroke. He died at a Wausau hospital April 29.

Two sons preceded him in death. Ross died in 1920 and Harry in 1951.

Relatives and friends who attended from away were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wicker and Doris, Milwaukee; Mrs. Edval Erickson, Clyman; Mrs. Myron Bushe and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Talcott, Wausau; Mrs. Josie LaVeigne, Mrs. C. A. Hanson, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Gilbert Schemenauer, Athens; Miss Evelyn Wicker, Wisconsin Rapids; Dr. and Mrs. H. E. Wicker and Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer of Stratford; Mrs. Ellen Sook, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Wescott, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fisher, Mrs. Annie Wescott, Spencer and others from Colby, Stratford, Unity and Spencer vicinities.

He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank Wicker, Colby, Wis. Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
