THORP -- Bernice M. Goodman, 85, of Stanley, formerly of Thorp, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Huron.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Thorp Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Bernice M. Goodman

THORP -- Bernice Margaret Goodman, 85, of Stanley, formerly of Thorp, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Victory Hospital in Stanley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Huron.

Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m., today at the Thorp Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Bernice was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Boyd to John and Margaret (Seidl) Jenneman. She married Bernard Goodman on Feb. 14, 1942, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Boyd. The couple owned and operated a farm in the town of Aurora for 29 years. They sold the farm in July 1980 and moved to Thorp.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Bernard; three sons, Douglas (Margaret) Lafayette, Colo., Dennis (Marge Weichulis) Stratford, and Brian (Kathleen), Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is further survived by her sister, Ernestine Theisen; and a brother, Floyd Jenneman.
