Karau, Minnie (4 Aug. 1900 - 6 Jan. 1983)

Spencer, Wis. - Mrs. Minnie Karau, 82, Milwaukee, formerly of Spencer, Wisconsin, died Thursday at St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, with burial in West Spencer Cemetery. The Rev. William Ruhbusch will officiate.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at Rux Funeral Home.

The former Minnie Below was born Aug. 4, 1900 in the Town of Spencer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Below. She and Emil Karau were married July 20, 1921. He died in 1962.

They lived on a farm near Mannville until moving to Spencer and she then moved to Milwaukee in 1963. She was a former employee of Land O’Lakes.

She is survived by three sons, Norbert Karau of Greenfield, Ind., Dr. Ralph Karau of Alexandria, Va., and Emil Karau of Glendale, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Delores) Witt of Noblesville, Ind., Mrs. Gerald (Eunice) Allar of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Minnie Betsworth of San Diego, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herman Below of Chippewa Falls, Martin Below of Spencer and Carl Below of Milwaukee; two sisters, Laura Schallock of Pontiac, Mich., and Ella Kalkopf of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She also was predeceased by two brothers, two sisters and her parents.

Memorials may be made to the organ fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.
