Beisner, Mildred M. (Boxrucker) (5 Aug 1916 - 31 Mar 2008)

Mildred M. Beisner, 91,Colby, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at the home of her daughter, Judy, under the tender care of Ministry Home Care Hospice of Marshfield.

Mildred was born August 5, 1916 in Dorchester to Joseph and Hattie (Pueschner) Boxrucker. She attended the Lawndale Country School in Taylor County until the 8th grade.

After school Mildred moved to Chicago where she worked as a nanny for a short time before returning to Dorchester area. On Sept 27, 1941 Mildred married Leo Beisner at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, Wis. There Mildred and Leo continued to farm and raise 7 children. Following the death of her husband, Leo, in 1957, Mildred and her family moved to Colby, Wis.

In her spare time Mildred enjoyed sewing, playing guitar, crocheting and gardening. Playing solitaire, kismet, and croquet when gathered with her family were some of Mildred’s greatest joys.

Mildred was a past member of St. Louis Catholic Church and a current member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s PCCW both since 1961.

Mildred is survived by her children; Judy (the late Bill) Dunow, Owen, Myrna (Jerry) Bartlett, Oshkosh, Mary Ellen (the late Norbert) Salzsieder, Oshkosh, Ron (Gayle) Beisner, Colby, Betty (the late Rick) Plotz, Dale City, VA and Laurie (Jim) Martin, Marshfield; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She is further survived by three sisters; Celie (the late Eddie) Neibacher, West Linn, OR, Mamie (the late Fred) Scidmore, Holcombe, and Josephine (the late Lee) Gayken, Happy Valley, OR.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, Wis. Rev. John Gualbert will preside. Private burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for Mildred will be Saturday at the church in Colby from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

The Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.
