Czech, Justyna (14 JUN 1869 - 7 DEC 1944)

Mrs. Justyna Zieniuk Czech passed away of a heart attack on Dec. 7, 1944, at the home of her son Joseph, in the Town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), having reached the age of 75 years and 6 months.

The deceased was born in Poland on June 14, 1869. She was united in marriage there to Alex Czech in Nov. 1890. They came to America in 1910 and resided for some time near Thorp and Gilman, being engaged in farming. They returned to Europe in 1923 and remained there for one year. Coming back to this country in 1925 they settled in Lublin and in 1927 moved to Thorp, where theyhave since made their home.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Joseph F. Czech of Thorp, one grandchild, Mary Ann Kodl and one great grandson, Ronald J. Kodl, two brothers, john and Adam Zieniuk in Poland and one sister, Julia Kophyjanuk in Poland.

Funeral services were conducted by Father Piekarski, local pastor and Father Kolman of Gilman, at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning, Dec. 9th, with interment in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Geo. Zukowski, Walter Juzwiak, Thomas Szatalowicz, Thos. Kulawiec, Frank Sierociuk and Louis Twarowski.
