McKee, Margaret (25 AUG 1871 - 17 JAN 1945)

Mrs. Margaret McKee (nee Frese) passed away at the Stanley Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1945, due to pneumonia.

She was born in New Holstein, Wis., Aug. 25, 1871. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Frese, who moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1888, and was married to Herbert S. Adams in 1890, and they resided in Boyd, where two children were born to this union. Her marriage to M.S. McKee occurred in 1904 and shortly after they moved to Polley. He preceded her in death 12 years ago. She resided in Polley until her death.

Having lived a useful and active life, her untimely death is a shock to the community.

She leaves to mourn, two children, Belle Hockins of Glendale, Calif., and Ellery J. Adams of Elmwood, Ill.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive; two brothers, Henry of Thorp and Herman of Polley; three sisters, Mrs. John Rossman of Polley, Mrs. E. Heideman and Mrs. Meta Seaman of thorp. A brother, John Frese, and a sister, Bertha Estes, preceded her in death.

She lay in state at the Thorp Funeral Home until Monday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Gilman, Rev. Fischer officiating. She was laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery.
