Maj. Archie C. Tweit, with the Fifth Army in Italy, was recently awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in combat in Italy. He is an executive officer in the 985th Field Artillery Battalion. The citation stated that regardless of weather or enemy action, Maj. Tweit has shown outstanding devotion to duty and complete disregard for personal safety. On occasion, as acting battalion commander he performed his duties with a high determination and skill. His unfailing good humor and understanding nature has served as a source of inspiration to all in the battalion. Major Tweit is a former principal of the Unity high school.
