McManus, Viola (19 MAR 1946)

The wedding of Miss Viola McManus, daughter of Mrs. Angeline McManus of the town of Taft and Mr. Harold Mattke of Woodruff, was solemnized at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Gilman, last Tuesday morning, March 19th, 1946, rev. W. Kolman officiating. The eight o’clock ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast served at the Auto Café in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and a reception and dinner was held at the home of the bride’s mother.

For the occasion the bride was attired in a formal gown of white satin fashioned with a net overskirt, long sleeves that came to points at her wrists, and a sweetheart neckline. Her floor length veil of illusion fell softly from a beaded tiara and she wore a pearl necklace, a gift from the groom. A white orchid centering white roses made up her bouquet.

Attending the bride was Miss Esther Wilger of Gilman, who wore a blue net dress with a matching blusher veil. Her flowers were white carnations and pink roses. The groom and best man, James McManus, wore navy blue suits with white carnation boutonnieres.

The bride is a graduate of the Gilman High School and the groom of Woodruff High School. He was recently discharge from army service.

The young couple will make their home at Woodruff.
