Thorp Happenings

Thorp has a volunteer fire department, the members of which have elected the following officers: A. W. Emerson, president; L. O. Bernhagen, vice-president; F. R. Podhola, secretary; William S. Wagner, treasurer; Lawrence Boardman, fire chief and inspector; A. Burkhardt, assistant chief.

The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lockbaum of the town of Reseburg, was celebrated January 15.

Eleanor Whek is recuperating after an appendectomy.

Mrs. Charles Fisher is in St. Joseph’s hospital for an operation.

Louis Gulczynski of the town of Withee has bought from Joseph Dobrzanski an 115-acre farm located three miles south of Thorp.

Herman Anason has bought the George Walter farm in the Eidsvold neighborhood.

Mary Jean Bachmeyer is making a good recovery after an appendectomy.

Dr. A. H. Kulig is convalescing at his home, after having spent some time in the hospital at Eau Claire.
