Hardwick, Winifred (Marriage - 17 June 1944)

Miss Winifred Hardwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hardwick of Humbird, became the bride of Raymond Tesmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Tesmer, Neillsville Rt. 3, in a double ring ceremony performed Saturday afternoon, June 17, at the Christie Lutheran Church, by the Rev. George Heilman, Greenwood, pastor of the Christie Church. Cut flowers were used for the church decorations.

The bride wore a white sheer dress with a train and ginger-tip veil and carried an arm bouquet of white carnations. Her sister, Miss Joyce Hardwick of Humbird, bridesmaid, wore a white floor length dress and carried pink carnations. The groom was attended by Elwin Pierce, Neillsville, a cousin of the bride.

A reception was held in the evening at the home of the bride’s parents, where a 6:30 dinner was served to about 40 lose relatives and friends. The house was beautifully decorated in pink, white and blue.

The bride is a graduate of the Humbird High School and for the past four years has been employed at the Curl Shop in Neillsville. The groom, a graduate of the Neillsville High School, is engaged in faming. The couple are now at home on the groom’s farm on Rt. 3, Neillsville.

A double wedding dance and shower were held Saturday evening at the Silver Dome, for Mr. and Mrs. Tesmer and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wedekind. On Monday evening, a shower for Mr. and Mrs. Tesmer was given at Humbird at the home of Mr. Tesmer’s parents, by friends and relatives of the couple.

Miss Winifred Hardwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hardwick of Humbird, was unite din marriage to Raymond Tesmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Tesmer of Christie, in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. George Heilman of Greenwood, at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, June 17, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Christie. It is reported to have been the only church wedding ever held in St. John’s Church.

The bride was attired in the traditional white bridal gown with a long train, a finger tip veil and carried a bouquet of white carnations.

Miss Joyce Hardwick, Humbird, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor. She wore white formal and carried pink carnations.

Elwin Pierce of Humbird attended the groom. The bride’s and groom’s mothers both wore gowns of blue and shoulder corsages.

After the ceremony supper was served to 35 immediate relatives and friend at the home of the bride’s parents.

The young couple will make their home on the groom’s farm, southwest of Christie.

Before her marriage the bride was employed in a beauty parlor in Neillsville. She is a graduate of the Humbird High School, and the groom graduated from Neillsville High School.
