Laken, Mary Ann (Marriage - June 1945)

In a pretty June wedding performed at 11 a.m. at the St. James church in Milwaukee, Mary Ann Laken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken of Neillsville, exchanged marriage vows with Otto Berg of Baltimore, Md. The Rev. Lund performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride wore a satin gown with lace inserts, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and a long sweeping train. Her white tulle finger-tip veil was caught in a pearl crown. She carried a bouquet of white sweet peas, baby roses and gardenias. She wore a string of pearls.

Miss Helen Laken, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor.

The two bridesmaids were Lillian Anderson of Milwaukee and Lillian Bartos of Thorp, friends of the bride.

Marvin Rood of Delavan, friend of the groom, attended as best man. Silas Herte of Washington, D.C., and John Kidowski of Delavan were the ushers.

A dinner was held at the Edward Rasmus home for thirty guests. A reception was held in the evening for 120 guests. The room was decorated in pink, blue and white streamers and a large white wedding bell. A large three-tier wedding cake formed the center-piece of the table.

Guests from out of town included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken and family of Neillsville, Matt Dergance, Jr., of Willard.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Berg, after a honeymoon at Virginia Beach, will make their home at Baltimore.
