Draper, Amy (12 Feb. 1873 - 29 Jan. 1945)

Funeral services for Mrs. Amy Draper, aged 71 years, were held Thursday afternoon, February 1, at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church in Loyal, conducted by the Rev. Myron E. Taylor, pastor of the church. Burial took place in Loyal. Mrs. Draper died suddenly at her home in Loyal, on Monday afternoon, January 29, of a heart attack.

Mrs. Draper, the former Amy Kayhart, daughter of the late Charles and Hattie Kayhart, was born on February 12, 1873, in the town of Weston. She taught school for several years in Clark county, and was married on March 23, 1893, to Fred W. Draper. They lived on a farm in the town of Loyal until 1901, when they moved to Neillsville. They resided here while Mr. Draper served as clerk of court. In 1901 they moved to Madison, returning in 1912 to Loyal, where they have since made their home.

She was a faithful and active member of the Methodist church, and for many years a teacher in the Sunday school.

Mrs. Draper is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Bernice Draper, a history teacher at the University of North Carolina, at Greensboro, N.C. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Neva Swann of Neillsville, who has been spending the winter at her sister’s home. Her parents and a brother, Roy Kayhart, are deceased.
