Brandt, August C. (29 Oct. 1866 - 17 Mar. 1945)

Final rites were held Wednesday of this week for August C. Brandt, 78, of the Withee community. He died Saturday at his home west of Withee.

Mr. Brandt was born in Germany in 1866, and came to the Withee area in 1884. He purchased a farm there in 1890, and in that year married Ida Prust, who died last year. Five children survive - Joseph, on the home farm; Frederick, of Withee; Ida, Mrs. Emi Niemi of Withee; Martha, Mrs. Elmer Meyer of Chicago; Viola, Mrs. Gilbert Meyer, Greenwood. There are two grandchildren: Joyce Meyer of Greenwood and Emil Niemi, Jr., of Withee.
