Masonic funeral rites were conducted at Colby Sunday morning, May 27, for Frank A. Jackson, 61, Colby attorney who died Wednesday, May 23, at a Milwaukee hospital. The body was taken to Green Lake for burial.

Mr. Jackson was born December 19, 1883, in Meadowbrook, West Va. The family came to Green Lake when he was a small child. He attended high school there and later went to Ripon college, receiving his law degree from the University of Minnesota. He came to Colby in 1914, and the following year was married to Bertha Hill, who survives.

Mr. Jackson served two terms as district attorney of Clark county, 1919 -1922, and at the time of his death was Colby city attorney. It was during his tenure as district attorney that the famous Krueger draft evasion trial was heard in this county. He was a member of the Masonic Order, a master of the Colby lodge, a past master of the Abbotsford lodge, and a member of the Tripoli shrine.
