Fosnow, Elsie (6 FEB 1945)

Miss Elsie Fosnow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fosnow, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage with Pvt. Paul McShane, son of Mrs. Mary McShane of Minneapolis, Minn., on Tuesday evening, Feb. 6, 1945 at the Alliance Chapel at Owen, with Rev. Matthews officiating.

Miss Irma Nimbar of Withee was maid of honor and Pvt. Robert Hendricks of Withee was best man. He left the night of the wedding to return to Fort Ord, California.

The bride wore an evening gown of cascade blue rayon taffeta with a pearl necklace, earrings and brooch. The maid of honor wore an evening gown of rose chiffon with crystal earrings and necklace. The groom and best man both wore the U.S. Army uniform. The bride’s mother wore a powder blue suit.

A reception was held following the wedding at the bride’s home. About twenty guests attended and very nice lunch was served to all.

Pvt. And Mrs. McShane left Wednesday, Feb. 7, for Minneapolis, to spend a few days with Pvt. McShane’s mother and family. The bride’s going away costume was an olive drab traveling suit with brown accessories.

The bride attended Owen High School three years and graduated from Withee in 1940, and since has been employed in Minneapolis.

The groom is stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and will return to that camp Sunday, Feb. 11.
