Ammentorp, Phyllis #2 (16 JUN 1945)

A pretty church wedding took place Saturday, June 16, 1945, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee, when Miss Phyllis Ammentorp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thorvald Ammentorp, exchanged marriage vows with Frank E. Konieczny Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Konieczny of Thorp. The Rev. L.C. Bundgaard officiating.

The bridesmaids for the occasion were Miss Delilah Gosse and Miss Lois Madsen, both of Owen, and the maid of honor was Pvt. Ellen Ammentorp of Fort Sheridan, Ill. Their attendants were Bernard Lang of the USN, Henry Buczynski and Tony Lindquist of Thorp.

Following the wedding a reception was held at the Danish Assembly Hall and a dinner was served at 4 o’clock. The bride’s table was decorated with a wedding cake, candles and summer flowers.

Those from away attending were Mrs. Fred Rasmussen and daughter, Elaine, aunt and cousin of the bride, Pvt. Ellen Ammentorp, Fort Sheridan, Ill., sister of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lang and family of Unity; Bernard Lang, USN, recently returned from overseas; Miss Evelyn Pecha, Chippewa Falls; and Randall Grant, Spring Valley, friends of the bride, and Thomas Konatz, Oshkosh, brother of the groom.

The young couple are enjoying a week’s honeymoon in the southern part of the state.
