Matson, Katherine (7 JUL 1945)

The C. and M. Alliance Chapel of Owen was the scene of the wedding of Katherine Matson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Matson of Holway, and Harvey Dearth, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Dearth of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

The ceremony took place on July 7 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Morris Anderson officiated. Mrs. Harold Frey and Miss Violet Otto sang "What God has Promise," accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Smiley, who also played the wedding march.

The bride was attired in a gown of white ninon, fashioned with a fitted bodice, a full skirt, and a long train. Her full length veil which fell from a tiara of orange blossoms was edged in lace. She wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom, and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.

Mrs. Elmer Dearth, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She was attired in a floor length gown of blue net over satin. She wore rosebuds in her hair and wore a corsage of pink and white carnations.

The groom and his attendant Elmer Dearth, wore blue suits and boutonnieres of white carnations.

Following the ceremony a wedding supper was served to 40 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is a graduate of the Withee High School. The couple will make their home on the farm of the groom’s parents.

Out of town guests were Rev. Morris Anderson of Marshfield, Mrs. Smiley of Curtiss and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dearth of Prentice.
