On Nov. 23, 1945, at 2:30 p.m. Miss Irene Nielsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Nielsen of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was married to Gordon Gehrt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gehrt of Neillsville (Clark Co.). The service was held in the Danish Lutheran Church of Withee with Rev. Bundgaard, the local pastor, officiating in the double ring ceremony.

Attending the bride and groom were the bride’s sister, Virginia Nielsen, as maid of honor, the bride’s cousin Jean Crosson as bridesmaid. Bill Crosson as best man, and Wallace Lindau of Chili, as usher.

The bride walked up the aisle on the arm of her father, who gave her away to the groom. The bride’s gown was of white taffeta and net with a fingertip veil, which was held in place by a coronet of white daisies. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and yellow roses.

The maid of honor wore pink taffeta and net, and the bridesmaid a similar pink chiffon net. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink carnations. Another sister of the bride, Mary Nielsen, sang for the bridal couple the old familiar songs, "I Love You Truly" and "Love From God," accompanied by Mrs. Marie Ammentorp at the organ.

Attending the reception which was held in the Danish Assembly Hall were the relatives and friends of the bride and groom. Out of town guests were, Mr. and Mrs. Viggo Rasmussen of Spooner; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Kuhlman and children of Lake Bluff, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. O. Rasmussen and children of Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Emma Gertz of Kaukauna.
