JOSEPHINE V FIJALKIEWICZ

Josephine V. Fijalkiewicz, age 98, of rural Stanley, WI passed away peacefully on May 3, 2008, at home with her family by her side.

A Christian Burial Mass was held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Junction with Fr. Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with these family members serving as pallbearers: Randy Horn, Tim Buresh, Colton Dahl, Jordan Dahl, Kayla Hoffstatter and Jamie Hoffstatter and honorary pallbearers: Casey, Cody, Corey, Mike Buresh and Doug Dahl.

Friends and family called Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary being recited. Plombon Funeral Service, Stanley, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.

Josephine was born June 20, 1909 in rural Stanley, WI, the daughter of Martin & Mary (Luczak) Ignasiak. She grew up in rural Stanley and was united in marriage to John Fijalkiewicz on August 30, 1941 at St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Junction. They farmed and resided all of their lives in the Junction area. She was a lifetime member of the St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Church where she was baptized, made her First Holy Communion and was married. She belonged to the Rosary Society, Cheerful Corners Homemakers Club, the Universal Living Rosary Association and the Glamour Gals Red Hat Society. Josephine loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, loved to camp, and most of all loved to travel.

Josephine is survived by her two daughters: Christine (LaVerne) Buresh of Stanley, WI and Elaine Venet of Thorp, WI; four grandchildren: Tammy (Doug) Dahl, Tim (Colleen January) Buresh, Connie (Randy) Horn and Val (George Starks) Buresh; eleven great-grandchildren, Colton, Jordan & Christine Dahl, Casey Cody, Corey and Mike Buresh, Kayla and Jamie Hoffstatter, and Brandon and Brianna Horn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 1985; seven sisters: Julia Jankowski, Madeline Kaminski, Mary Artabasy, Katherine Jankowski, Sophie Vitort, Edna Kott and Louise Bruha; five brothers: John, Chester, Stanley, and James Ignasiak, and one in infancy; one son-in-law, DuWayne Venet; and two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Sandy.
