Kirkland, Standish #2 (1891? - JUL 1901)

Mrs. Jessie Campbell Kirkland of Washington, D.C., arrived here (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.) yesterday with the body of her son Standish, aged 10 years, for burial in the family lot. His death resulted from inflammatory rheumatism. Mrs. Kirkland, whose husband, Charles Kirkland, died some years ago, was formerly of this city, and graduated from our high school, a daughter of Wm. Campbell and niece of R.M. Campbell, at whose residence the funeral was held at 2:30, Rev. W.T. Hendren officiating.

Among those from abroad who attended the funeral were F.S. Kirkland and wife, Mrs. W.T. Hendren, Mrs. Emma Hendren Ball, of Stevens Point, and Mrs. McCullough of Marshfield. The last previous visit of Mrs. Kirkland was to bury her husband, and in this last overwhelming loss she has the deep sympathy of her many old-time friends.
