Funeral services for Mrs. Melvina Downer, 91, were held at the Gilbertson funeral home at Granton on Monday, October 1, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiated. Burial was made in the Windfall cemetery.

Mrs. Downer died on Friday, September 28, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Wright, where she has been making her home. For the past 11 years she has been an invalid and has spent the last remaining years of her life on the home farm she loved so well.

She is survived by the following children: Albion of Shelton, Wash.; Joel of Eau Claire; Richard, Frank, Neil, Gertrude, (Mrs. James Baker), and Bessie, (Mrs. Roy Wright), all of the town of York.

Six grandsons were pallbearers. They were: Donald Baker of Eau Claire; Wilfred Downer of Ripon; Eugene Downer of Hixton; Hallie Downer of Spencer; Ross Downer and Victor Downer, both of Granton.
