Vandehey, Julia #2 (24 MAR 1979 - 23 JAN 1942)

Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel Vandehey, age 62, who died Friday evening, Jan. 23, at Vincent’s hospital in Green Bay after suffering a stroke on January 20 at the home of her son, Maynard Vandehey, in Green Bay, were held Tuesday morning, Jan. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, the Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Hecker, George Roth, Leon Hoeser, C. J. Kraus, Conrad Niggermann and John Schlimm.

Mrs. Vandehey, the former Julia Laessig, was born in Wausau on Mar. 24, 1879, and married Mr. Vandehey in Stratford on June 26, 1900. The couple purchased a farm in the town of Beaver, Clark County, and operated it for 39 years before retiring and moving to Colby, Wis. Surviving are her husband and three daughters and four sons, namely-- Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft of Colby, Mrs. Frank Neibauer of Wisconsin Rapids, Maynard Vandehey of Green Bay and Harold, Lawrence and Ralph Vandehey of Los Angeles, Cal. Also a sister and two brothers—Mrs. John Kissinger of Victoria, B.C., and Frank and Charles Laessig of Stratford. There are 15 grandchildren.

Mrs. Vandehey was a member of the Christian Mothers society of St. Mary’s congregation.

The Tribune joins the many friends of the Vandehey family in extending heartfelt sympathy to them in their bereavement. We know the loss of their loved one will be keenly felt by all who knew her.
