Hardwick, Erma (Marriage - 28 Sept. 1944)

In front of an altar decorated with fall flowers, Miss Erma Hardwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hardwick, and Robert Jerome Dignin, M. M. 1/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Dignin, all of Humbird, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the St. John’s Reformed Church in Humbird, September 28 at 2 p.m. The Rev. N. J. Dechant of Neillsville preformed the double ring ceremony.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of Mendeissohn’s wedding march, played by Mrs. Emma Theiler.

The bride wore a gown of white chiffon over satin with lace insets, a sweetheart neckline, lone sleeves, fitted bodice and a long circular train. Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She wore a gold cross and carried a shower bouquet of baby’s breath and white roses.

The bride was attended by her sisters, Miss Delores Hardwick as maid of honor, Miss Phyllis Hardwick and Miss Betty Dignin, sister of the groom as bridesmaids.

The flower girl was little Sue Ann Crevistan, cousin of the groom. The ring bearer was Dale Dignin, brother of the groom.

The groom was attended by his shipmate, Edward O’Mara, M. M. 2/c.

Mrs. Edith Smith, cousin of the groom, sang "Oh Promise Me," and "I Love You Truly" preceding the ceremony.
