Tompkins, Charles S. (1865? - 13 MAR 1944)

The body of Charles S. Tompkins arrived here today from West Chicago, and funeral services were held from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) this afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. R. E. Ortmayer officiating.

He died Monday, March 13, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Armin MacAfee, after an illness of two days. He was 79 years of age.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. MacAfee, and one son, Kenneth, all residents of Chicago, who were here to attend the funeral.

Mr. and Mrs. Tompkins came to Owen in 1915, and have made this their home, having resided on a farm one and one-half miles north of the city. In October last year they went to Chicago, where they have since resided with their daughter.

Interment took place in Riverside cemetery.
