Charles Foote of Pleasant Ridge (Clark Co., Wis.) died suddenly Monday night, March 17th, 1902, at 5:30 p.m., of heart disease. He had gone to the barn to milk a cow and while thus engaged fell back unconscious, was carried to the house, but died before the house was reached.

He volunteered for the war in 1861, serving in the old 14th Wisconsin Infantry, and was mustered out Oct. 9, 1865. In 1866 he was married to Maggie Ross, daughter of Robert Ross, who, with her five children, Frank, Oscar, Mrs. H.R. King, Mrs. H.R.
