Oestreich, Vera E. #2 (23 FEB 1919 - 9 JUN 2008)

Vera E. Oestreich, 89, Marshfield, Wisconsin, died on Monday, June 9, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center health and Rehabilitation, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Mark Krueger officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jeffrey Janke, Ralph Bryant, Lawrence Adamski, Raymond Oestreich and Bradley Bradshaw.

Vera Luchterhand was born on Feb. 23, 1919, in the town of Loyal, to John and Anna B. (Johnson) Luchterhand. She attended Loyal Grade School and was a graduate of Loyal High School. She also was a graduate of Stevens Point College. She married Dennis Oestreich on Nov. 19, 1941, in Marshfield. He died on May 5, 2000, She taught un rural and state grade schools several years and ay Immanuel Lutheran School in Wisconsin Rapids for 10 years. She and her husband then owned and operated Tri City Oil Company in Wisconsin Rapids for 15 years until their retirement in 1970. In 1972, they moved to Marshfield where she resided until she entered the nursing home in Neillsville in March. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, and a past member og its Women’s Club.

Survivors include her sister, Janet Bradshaw, Merrillan.

A memorial in her name has been designated to Christ Lutheran Church.
