Pozega, Frank (8 NOV 1923 - 18 JUN 2008)

Frank Pozega, 84, Willard, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 21, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Burial was in the Willard Cemetery. Casket bearers were his grandsons, Jeremy Pozega, Chris Pozega, Jason Pozega, Brent Diercks, Kevin Binkley and Kody Binkley.

Frank Pozega was born on Nov. 8, 1923, at his home in Willard, to Thomas and Anna (nee Samson) Pozega. He attended the Blackberry Grade School, Willard, and helped on the family farm. He married Dorothy Olson on March 4, 1945, in Neillsville. He worked part time for a feed mill and a cheese factory but spent his entire life working hard on the family farm milking by hand. He was well known for his love of animals and had several pet deer, raccoons, and other various animals over the years. When not working, he enjoyed hunting, smelt fishing and his sweets, ice cream and candy.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; their children, David (Sue) Pozega, Hugo, Minn., Frank (Polly) Pozega, Willard, Larry Pozega, Willard, Duane (Pat) Pozega, Neillsville, Tommy (Laura) Pozega, Willard, Ronny Pozega, Willard, Dawn Pozega, Willard, and Lori (Mike McCarn) Binkley, Glenwood City; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren (with two on the way); and two sisters, Christine Gentz, Anoka, Minn., and Ann Sacket, Neillsville.

Preceding him in death were a son, Kenny; two brothers; and six sisters.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
