Paul N. Beyerl

Paul N. Beyerl, 89, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at his home at Villa St. Benedict's in Lisle, Ill. Services were held in his former home parish of Sacred Heart Church in Lombard, Ill., with interment in Assumption Cemetery in Winfield, Ill.

Paul was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Colby to Frank and Marie (Kiefer) Beyerl and attended local schools. He completed the short course in agriculture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1937. Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and was discharged in 1945. While in the service, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross.

On May 15, 1948, he married Lucille M. Gildarski of Chicago, Ill. She predeceased him in 2005. They had four children, David, John (Diane), Mary (Larry) Olson and Beth Beyerl. He is further survived by four grandchildren, Nicholas Beyerl, Anne (Dan) Beyerl Luther, Rebecca Olson and Neil Olson.

Paul is also survived by siblings, Sophie Schigley, Laura Meyer and Jacob Beyerl of Colby, Helen Edlebeck of DePere, Margaret (Ed) Charnitz of Brown Deer and Marie Waldhart of Stetsonville. Many nieces and nephews and special friend, Terri Szesny, also survive him.

His parents, his wife of 57 years, Lucille, and siblings, Martha Dolan, Gertrude Godlewski, Ida Draxler, Arnold, John and Francis Beyerl predeceased him.

Paul will be remembered as a cheerful, courteous, hardworking and caring man who touched many lives.
