Hartl, Marie E. (21 June 1926 - 12 June 2008)

Marie Hartl

Marie E. Hartl, 81, of Medford, died on June 12, 2008, at the Memorial Health Center Emergency Room in Medford.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and also from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the church.

She was born June 21, 1926, in Spencer to Leo F. and Hazel E. (Tibbets) Hebert. On April 12, 1945, she married Edward L. Hartl in Colby, Wis. He died on Jan. 5, 1988. After their marriage, they farmed in the Spencer area for a period of time. She was part owner of Closet Capers Store in Medford with two friends and worked at the Malibu Inn as a receptionist for many years.

Survivors include her children: Sharon (Pat) Scott of Sun Prairie, James (Jean) Hartl of Medford, Kathi (John) Johnson of Dorchester, Ron (Laurie) Hartl of Medford, David (Michelle) Hartl of Medford, Vern (Larry Gaboda) Hartl of Junction City and Lyn (Wendy) Hartl of Medford; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Vivian (Arvid) Podovels of Marshfield, Leonard (Claire) Hebert of Spencer, Carol Engman of Wausau, Delamae Smith of Wausau, Rose (Aaron) Wicker of Wausau, Franklin (Jan) Hebert of Brownsville, Texas, John Hebert of Spencer, Alice (Ace) Kasten of Hatley, Joanie Jones of Carthage, Mo., and Florence Edblom of Colby, Wis.
