Thwing, Willmette E. #2 (4 JUL 1865 - 5 APR 1942)

Funeral services for Willmette Ethelbert Thwing, 76, who died of pneumonia Sunday, April 5, at the home of his brother in Adams county, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Grace Methodist church in Greenwood.

The Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiated and interment took place in the Greenwood cemetery beside his wife, who died on April 28, 1911.

Born in Monticello on July 4, 1865, Mr. Thwing was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Thwing. He was married to Miss Clara Josephine Scovel in Greenwood. After their marriage, they lived for many years on a farm in North Beaver.

During the services Mrs.. Chal Perkins and Mrs. Grace Haeuser sang "Rock of Ages," "Home of the Soul" and "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me," accompanied by Mrs. John Meng.

Surviving are the following children; David, Ralph, Myron and Henry Thwing, all of Greenwood; Rufus Thwing, Britton, S. D.; Mrs. Otis (Ruth) Stowe, Withee and Mrs. Albert (Bernice) Ehlert, Atwood. Twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two half brothers also survive. His wife, a daughter and a son preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were six grandsons; Melvin, Harold and Lawrence Stowe, Jesse Thwing and Leland and Clyde Ehlert. North Beaver Cor.
