Zakrajsek, Albin (1 SEP 1897 - 5 MAY 1942)
Word has been received here from Chicago that Albin Zakrajsek was taken to St. Anthony’s hospital there last Monday, ill with pneumonia. Mrs. Zakrajsek was there with her parents at the time of his illness. Monday, after spending the week end here, she and her daughter, Dolores, left by auto for their home in Downers Grove, Ill. They were unaware of Mr. Zakrsjsek’s illness but in the mean time a phone call arrived for them to come home. They arrived there before he passed away on Tuesday May 5.
He was not a stranger here, as he spent many vacations here with his wife’s parents.
He was born on September 1, 1897, in Picserje, Jugoslavija, arriving in the United States in 1913. He was employed for the Slovenian paper, "Amerikanski Slovenec," in Chicago at the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one son, one daughter, five brothers, three sisters in the U. S. and one sister in Europe, also several nieces and nephews and his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pekoly, of Willard. He is the brother of the Rev. Kasimir Zakrajsek.
Funeral services were held last Saturday in St. Joseph’s church at Downers Grove, with burial in the St. Bernard’s cemetery. Seif and Hendren Cor.
