Bertz, Margaret (21 SEP 1877 - 20 JUN 1942)

Mrs. Margaret Bertz, 65, a resident of this city for the past 14 years, passed away at her home on Loyal at 6:15 a.m. Saturday morning, June 20. Death was due to complications.

A Requiem High Mass was read Monday morning at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic church, with the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer officiating. Burial was made at the Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Bertz, nee Margaret Campbell, was born in Dodge county on Sept. 21, 1877, and was married there to Peter Bertz on Aug. 31, 1897. They moved onto a farm three miles south of Loyal, where they lived for 30 years before moving to the village of Loyal, where she has lived for 14 years. Her husband preceded her in death 10 years ago.

Surviving are one son, James, and his wife, Hedwig; two brothers, James Campbell of Rubicon and Henry Campbell of Ellsworth, and three sisters, Mrs. Dora (Campbell) Becker of Whitefish Bay, Mrs. Anna (Campbell) Mortensen of West Allis and Lillian Campbell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased: Ray and Henry Bertz of Milwaukee, Rueben, Ed and Joe Bertz of Loyal and Philip Bertz of Neosha.

Relatives and friends from away who attended were: James Campbell, Rubicon; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Christenson, Ellsworth; Mrs. Ed Stoiber, Raymond Bertz and Henry Bertz, Milwaukee; Miss Maggie Bertz and Philip Bertz, 84-year-old Aunt, of Rubicon; Mr. and Mrs. John Bertz, Greenwood; Mrs. Alex Davel, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bichler, Wausau, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bichler Jr., Sheboygan.
