Last Thursday Dr. C. M. Poff died at Black River Falls while enroute from La Crosse to his former home in Washburn township (Clark Co., Wis.), by team, accompanied by his wife. The doctor was an old soldier, and a pensioner, and had long been in a precarious condition of health, and knew that his call to go was to come soon and most likely suddenly. He was a Vernon Co. man originally, and besides his family and many friends here, leaves a large circle of friends in that county, where he was taken for burial.
