Wheelock, Frances #2 (5 SEP 1903)

Mr. Guy Matheson and Miss Frances Wheelock were married Saturday evening, Sept. 5, 1903, by Rev. G. W. Longenecker, at the parsonage, the bride’s sister, Mrs. Perry, and brother Carl were the only witnesses. Guy and Fanny told their families they were going to get married that night, but in such a way that, rather given to joking, they were not believed, and later, when they showed their certificate, there were two immensely surprised families, and all was merry. The whole town was taken by surprise. The sly pair are a popular, handsome couple, and everybody thinks it a pleasant event, well planned and wisely carried out. The two left the city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.) the next day likewise mysteriously, and Mrs. Wheelock, Carl and Mrs. Perry left Monday on business, Mrs. Perry returning home to B. R. Falls. Guy and his mother-in-law are doing organizing work for the Beavers Insurance Lodge.
