Curtiss, Wis. - Apr. 12, 1956

The Ladies’ Aid of the Ev. Lutheran church will meet on Thursday, April 19, at the parish hall. Mrs. Albert Bakke and Mrs. Wm. Anderson will be hostesses.

A sum of $61.75 was netted, according to the report of Mrs. A. J. Hennlich and Mrs. Paul Konik, Red Cross solicitors in the village. The quota was $60.00.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Geary and daughter of Prairie du Chien visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Geary, over the week-end.

Mrs. Victoria Thompson has been appointed community chairman for Curtiss for the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Lee Smiley of Stanley visited her mother, Mrs. Minnie Green, Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tonn and family of Escanaba, Mich., visited his mother, Mrs. Anna Tonn, over the week-end.

Mrs. Adolph Bartell and son returned to their home in Milwaukee after having been here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stockmeyer.

Mrs. Henry Neuhaus, who has been in poor health at the home of her daughters in Chicago the past several months, has returned to her home. Mr. Neuhaus met her in Milwaukee the latter part of the week.

Miss Delores Smith visited her father, Albert Smith, and brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Arne Harris, and family over the Easter holidays.

Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Peterson were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Luchterhand and family of Marshfield.

Visiting here with her brothers, Art, Harold and Fritz Laabs, were their brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Pease, and family of Bay City, Mich.

Army Pfc. Chester B. Larson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Larson of Curtiss, Route 1, is a member of the 398th Transportation Battalion at Fort Eustis, Va. Larson is a clerk in the battalion. He entered the army in February, 1955. The 19-year-old soldier attended Owen High School.
