Wedekind, William F. (18 DEC 1882 - 2 FEB 1947)

William F. Wedekind, 64, died at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, Feb. 2, 1947, at his farm home two miles southeast of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), after an illness of one week. Funeral services were held on Feb. 5 at 2 p.m., at the Lowe Funeral Home, where the body had lain in state. The Rev. N. J. Dechant, pastor of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiated. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

William Wedekind was born Dec. 18, 1882, in Wheeling, West. Va., the son of William Sr. and Matilda Wedekind. Her was the eldest of a family of six children. When he was about a year old, his parents came to Wisconsin, settling in the town of Pine Valley, Clark County. Here the remainder of his life has been spent.

In 1913 he was married to Alma Severson at Neillsville, and went to live on the farm which has been their home ever since. Surviving are his wife and one son, Irvin, who resides on the home farm.

Also surviving are three sisters, and a brothers. They are: Clara, Mrs. George Shaw, Florence, Mrs. Arthur Smith; and Richard Wedekind of Neillsville; and Mrs. Alvina Reikkoff of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One brother, Arthur, died in 1934. His father died in 1915 and his mother in 1942. Mrs. Reikkoff was in Neillsville for the funeral services.

Pallbearers were Arnold Henchen, Henry Dahnert, Robert Frantz, Ernest Brown, Henry Beaver and Alvin Pagenkopf.
