Boness, Emma (11 DEC 1873 - 13 FEB 1947)

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Boness, 73, of 121 South Grand Av., Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 16, at the Cole Funeral Home, where the body had lain in state. The Rev. N.J. Dechant, pastor of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery. Mrs. Boness died Thursday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient about a week.

Emma Wergin, daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Wergin, was born Dec. 11, 1873, at Ottawa, Ill. On Dec. 23, 1891, she was married to Charles Boness at Ottawa. In 1912 they moved to Mankato, Minn., and in 1928 came to Neillsville, where she has made her home the past 19 years. Her husband preceded her in death. Two brothers and a sister are also deceased.

Surviving are three sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The sons are Robert of Neillsville and Otto and Hugo who reside at Hoffman, Minn. A son, Emil, and a daughter, Alma, died in infancy. A brother, Richard Wergin of Appleton, survive. Mrs. Bones had been living for some time at the home of her son, Robert.

Pallbearers for the services were: William Dahnert, Henry Wasserburgerr, William Schultz, Arthur Flynn, John Walk and Carl Spaete. The sons, Otto and Hugo Boness, were here from Minnesota for the funeral.
