Viergutz, Verna (Marriage - 9 June 1956)
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Peter, who were married in a 3:00 o’clock ceremony June 9, are now at home to callers at 1508 Merrill Ave. in Wausau. The ceremony, during which Miss Verna Viergutz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Markus Viergutz of Wausau, became the bride of the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peter of Colby, Route 1, were held in St. Paul’s Evangelical church in Wausau.
The couple were attended by Miss Beverly Viergutz of Wausau as maid of honor and by Miss Elaine Peter of Two Rivers and Miss Barbara Tietz of Wausau as bridal aides. The groom was attended by William Peter, Jr., as best man and Glen Viergutz and Bruce Schael of Wausau as groomsmen. Frank Prochnow, brother-in-law of the bride, and Michael Peter, uncle of the groom, were ushers.
Dinner for 100 guests and relatives followed in the church parlors. In the evening, a reception was held for friends and relatives at the Viergutz home. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Rib River Ballroom. The couple spent their honeymoon in Southern Wisconsin.
Guests were present from North Lake, Ill., Chicago, Ill., Edgar, Two Rivers, West Allis, Colby, Merrill, Abbotsford and Marathon.
